Overview
The Stilwell Road from Ledo in Assam through Myitkyina to join the Burma Road at Mongyu, built by US engineers and Kachin labor in jungle from 1942, opened 1945. Built through jungle after the reconquest of northern Burma. Later abandoned, partly reopened in modern times.
