Overview
The pass between the Bernese Oberland and the upper Rhone valley, opened as a carriage road in 1894. The road winds past the dammed Grimsel and Totensee lakes of a major hydroelectric scheme and links with the Furka and Susten passes in a classic alpine three pass loop.
