Overview
State Highway 94 from Te Anau into Fiordland and the only road to Milford Sound. The route climbs through beech forest and glacial valleys before the single bore Homer Tunnel, begun in the 1930s and opened to traffic in 1953. Avalanche risk closes it at times in winter.
